Description:

A new 2 story 17,500 SF Cable News Facility with lower level parking.  Axis between the State Capital Building and University of Texas Tower influenced the form and interior spatial relationships of the building.  “Texas Stone” is used on the fin walls which define the edge of the property while the skewed tower relates to the axis bisecting the site, providing optimal views to the Capital Building making up the backdrop for the News Anchors.  Included in the facility are a state of the art Anchor Studio, Master Control Room, Weather Studio and 8,000 SF of Corporate Office Space.

Description:

The main entry to the building is defined by a cantilevered sloping vertical wall, which adds needed technical space to the weather studio above.

The Interior office space is an open plan with glass wall partitions around the perimeter, which allows natural light to flow through the space.

Description:

The anchor studio is designed to use multiple sets and backdrops.  The first provides the audience with a view of the Control Room.  Camera’s can then be swung around to televise a special report utilizing the State Capital Building as another backdrop.
